Hello! I’m Kade Nystrom, a driven and enthusiastic individual with a passion for continuous learning and growth. With a diverse background spanning academic pursuits, professional experiences, and athletic endeavors, I bring a unique blend of skills and perspectives to every challenge I encounter.

Whether it’s excelling in the fast-paced environment of the restaurant industry, competing on the volleyball court with unwavering determination, or delving into the complexities of business strategy through academic projects, I approach each endeavor with a spirit of curiosity, adaptability, and resilience. As I embark on this journey of personal and professional development, I am eager to connect with like-minded individuals, explore new opportunities, and make a positive impact in the world around me.

Work Experience:

In my three years at Lynde’s Restaurant & Catering in Osseo, Minnesota, I’ve held various roles that have honed my hospitality skills. As a Host/Expo & Busser, I’ve been entrusted with managing reservations, seating guests, and ensuring a seamless flow between the kitchen and the dining area. Addressing customer queries, assisting waitstaff, and maintaining cleanliness standards have been integral parts of my responsibilities. Additionally, my role as a Catering Assistant & General Help has allowed me to showcase my versatility, from preparing and assembling food items for catering events to managing inventory and responding to guest inquiries.

Furthermore, my experience as a Tube Hill Attendant at Three Rivers Park District has sharpened my customer service skills, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction while maintaining a clean and enjoyable environment. Throughout these experiences, I’ve developed strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering exceptional service in diverse settings.

Education:

My educational journey reflects a commitment to interdisciplinary learning and academic excellence. Currently, I am finishing up my Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Anoka-Ramsey Community College. After this semester, I will be pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Communication and Professional Writing at Metro State University. I hope this will equip me with the skills needed for effective communication in various professional settings. Regarding my past education, throughout junior and senior high, I was a part of the Classical Conversations Challenge Program. This helped to hone my problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills through its often rigorous coursework and extracurricular activities. Additionally, I participated in the CC+ program with Southeastern University, which introduced me to college classes. And I also had the opportunity to go through the Bethel Business Academy at Bethel University.

Throughout my education, I have consistently demonstrated a passion for learning and a dedication to acquiring new skills; whether through formal education or self-directed learning platforms like Khan Academy. This diverse educational background has equipped me with a wide range of skills, hopefully preparing me for success in my future endeavors.

Athletics:

Beyond the classroom, my athletic endeavors include 5 years of volleyball at a high school level, primarily in the position of Libero/Defensive Specialist. Beginning my competetive volleyball journey at Elk River High School in 2018, I earned the team’s Sportsmanship Award, a testament to my dedication and character. Transitioning to Maple Grove Senior High, where I’ve spent the past four years, I’ve continued to push boundaries and strive for excellence. Also, addition to high school sports, I played club volleyball at Minnesota Select in the fall of 2023.

One of the most memorable highlights of my athletic career was participating in the Minnesota State High School League’s Boys Volleyball state tournament in 2022. Despite starting as the 16th seed out of 19 teams, our team was resilient and determined. In the end, we secured a remarkable third place overall, showcasing the values of perseverance, teamwork, and focus under pressure. This experience was instrumental in shaping my character and showed me the lessons that can be learned through athletic competition.

Last year we collected roughly 2,000 pounds of food and non-perishables! I also pack food yearly with Feed My Starving Children, contributing to their global hunger relief efforts.

In addition to humanitarian aid, my involvement with Bunce Performing Arts contributed to community engagement efforts. During their free 2023 summer show, “Tuck Everlasting,” I showcased my talents as an actor and juggler, assisted with set changes and props, participated in set construction and decoration, and supported marketing and fundraising endeavors.
