My name is Kayla Nielsen and I am currently enrolled at Anoka Ramsey Community College to pursue an Associates Degree in Business Administration. I made this website as a portfolio of my skills developing websites. My planned graduation date is Spring 2027.
I am the Deputy Clerk for a local government municipality and I am getting my degree to better my career. My goal is to become a better administrator. Long term, I would like to continue my education by getting a 4 year degree and a Municipal Clerk Certification.
I sold children’s books for a company called PaperPie (formerly known as Usborne Books and More) while staying at home with my kids before I became an administrator. I sold some of the greatest children’s books available for five years. It was on of the best experiences. I would never have had so many opportunities as a result of it. My kids learned to love reading as much as I did, I felw on an airplane for the first time, and met consultants from all over the United States.
Personal Life

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 14 years. We have two children. My son is 13 and loves four wheeling, video games, drawing, and making videos. My daughter is 9 and loves movies, animals, scrapbooking, and being outside. As a family we enjoy camping and being on the boat. Additionally, we have a 5 year old lab mix named Nala.
My favorite weekend of the year is Nielsen Weekend. This is 4 days out of the year where everyone camps out at the cabin. We spend our time grilling good food, on the water swimming and fishing, arguing over who is going to win the bean bag tournament, and just enjoying each others company. Last year the bean bag tournament consisted of 12 teams of 2. Teams are drawn at random the day of the tournament. My husband won the tournament with his teammate and brought home a 3D printed trophy. It currently sits on my bookshelf to remind me I need to practice more. 😛
Things I Enjoy:
- Reading Fantasy, Romance, and Sci Fi Books
- Drinking Coffee
- Fishing with my family
- Competitive Bean Bags
- Movie Nights
- Reality
- Camping
