The unprecedented access to public lands in and around the city means there is an endless supply of new outdoor experiences within 20 minutes of home. My elementary age kids know 10 different spots to swim based on weather and activity preference that day. They have gone ice sailing and watched the lift bridge light up while ice skating on lake superior. We can fish streams for trout or lakes for walleye and panfish or go kayak a section of quiet river.

Duluth is a great mix of adventure, relaxation, and history. Whether you’re into hiking, food, or just soaking in the scenery, it’s a place worth visiting!
