An eruption lasts 1.5 to 5 minutes and expels 3,700–8,400 gallons of boiling water, and reaches a height of 106–184 feet!

Wolfs

The oldest known wolf here was 12.5 years old. Two main color variations exist in Yellowstone, black and gray. They prey primarily on hoofed animals. In Yellowstone, 90% of winter diet is elk; summer prey consist of more deer and smaller mammals.

Yellowstone is the only place in the lower 48 states to have a continuously free-ranging bison population since prehistoric times!
