Yoshi Lee

This is a picture of my cat, and her name is Lulu or also known as Meow Meow.

My name is Yoshi Lee and I am studying Web Design and Web Programming at Saint Paul College in St. Paul, Minnesota. My planned graduation date is May 2024 with certificates, and I have made this website as a portfolio to demonstrate my skills for developing websites. Prior to school, I was an active Military service member serving in the United States Marine Corps and coming home, at first, I knew I wanted to go to college and get my degree, secondly, going to school in the past was rough for me but I knew that it had to be done if I wanted to get in a good career field. So, I had thought of three majors that I would be good at: Logistics, Computers, and Analyzing.

I have taken the following classes at Saint Paul College:

  • Web Fundamentals, where I learned HTML and CSS
  • Computer Science and Information Systems
  • Introduction to Computing and Programming Concepts

Next semester I will be taking Client-Side Programming and Web Design because I am also planning to take other curriculum for Web Development such as Java programming and Java Script.

My hobbies include video gaming, playing volleyball, practicing guitar, and playing Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

Yoshi Lee – Web Dev Portfolios

Since, I haven’t talked about myself a whole lot during my portfolio given that this is a professional website, I wanted to take this opportunity to share a story that holds most important to me. In case you didn’t read my biography, I was in the United States Marine Corps and during my last year, I was stationed in Japan. November of 2020, I got a call from one of my aunties that my grandpa was in the hospital due to covid, and I panicked.

At first, I didn’t want to believe that it was covid and that it could have been a cold or other sickness, but then, it got worse. December of 2020, my grandpa has been in a coma for a month and no signs of physical movements. No one has contacted me or updated me on the situation and at this instant, I am depressed. I reach out to my parents, at last someone answers. My mom tells me that he is still in a coma and that the doctors cannot do anything but to monitor his health but, in the meantime, keep doing what I have been doing.

Two weeks go by, and I am at work, I get a phone call from my mom, and she is crying, “son, your grandpa had just passed away this morning” at this point of telling me, I am crying and weeping for my beloved grandpa and as much as I cried and weep, there was no way to bring him back. My grandpa has always been my shine and happiness whenever a part of my life falls, I will always remember all the things he did for us and how much he has loved us. This story is the reason I move forward and the reason why I cherish my family, close friends, and military friends because at any rate, someone else would be in my shoes.
